60GHz帯のミリ波の利用により、従来の24GHz帯に比べ、より高い分解能を実現でき、人の存在や動き、レーダーから物体までの距離、モノの量などを高い精度で検知し、対象までの距離を1mm単位で最大7mまで測定可能です（レンズ無しの場合）。レンズを使用した場合は最大20mまで測定可能です。 本レーダーセンサーは、気温や風雨などの外部環境ノイズに強く、また、電波が透過する材質であれば、障害物があっても対象物の測定が可能です。 12×12×2.45 mm/0.6gの小型軽量で、低消費電力のため長時間の稼働が望めます。 人感用アルゴリズムを搭載したFSM7SPA01-204001と、測距用アルゴリズムを搭載したFSM7SPA01-204002の2種類をご用意しています。

The FSM7SPA01-204001 is a 60GHz radar sensor equipped with a human detection algorithm. It is resistant to external environmental noise such as temperature, wind, and rain, and can measure targets even in the presence of obstacles, as long as the material allows radio waves to pass through. It does not collect personally identifiable information and can detect people even in heat or steam, making it ideal for installation in places where privacy considerations and the ability to handle harsh environments are necessary, such as bathrooms. It can also detect distance, allowing for actions such as turning on lights when a person approaches a specific distance, triggering alarms based on movement, or implementing emergency stops by detecting and controlling specific areas. Additionally, it can detect the distance of a person and their slow/fast movements, and it is possible to raise an alarm if there is no movement for a certain period in places like restrooms or private booths.

The FSM7SPA01-204002 is a 60GHz radar sensor equipped with a distance measurement algorithm that can measure distances to objects with an accuracy of 1mm, up to a maximum of 7m. The built-in distance measurement algorithm outputs the radar reflection intensity of each object and can measure up to 10 objects within the radar range. Compared to mechanical or ultrasonic methods, it allows for low power consumption and maintenance-free operation. When intermittent operation is set, power consumption can be reduced to about 3.1mW, making it possible to configure it for battery operation (this configuration is done on the customer side; batteries are not included with the module). It is suitable for applications where monitoring the quantity of objects or liquids from a distance and replenishing them as needed is desired. Retrofitting to existing equipment is also easy.
